My journey in the realm of Religious Life started a year after I completed my Naval service. Naturally I had a lot of worldly experiences by then through which to filter theology and spiritual practices. Eventually I became a missionary in both China and Korea. After eight years I realized that I was not bringing a spiritual illumination to Asia. They already had thousands of years of great spiritual teachers from which they learned more than I could offer. I left the religious order to teach in secular universities. Philosophy of Education became my domain with an interest in how extra-curricular activities such as the Arts gave meaning to life. I focused on Major Movements in the Humanities which illustrated humanity's quest for happiness and freedom from the repressions resulting from a lack of open mindedness in organized institutions of State, Religion and Education.
As I think back I can now see that the gospel of John still rings true in my thoughts that the divine light is already in each of us as we enter the world. We are born to be divine.

Joe as a young cleric (1959 - 1967) |

These are my Golden Years where I get to tell my story and celebrate and share my knowledge and experiences. Which one of these is Joe? The student, the high school teacer, the university professr, the entertainer, the hypnotist, the metaphysican, the clergyman, the missionary to Asia, the psychic, the artist, the therapist, the motivasional skeaker etc? All of them.
Now I counsel and motivate because I know what it was like when I was finding my way. How fortunate I am to enjoy all that I am and to want to share that with all those who seek me out. Confucius advised us that we ought not to offer advice until asked. Just that one practice has brought much peace to me.
By the way, on a cruise ship I get do ballroom dancing. One of my many loves. Steping out of the box of who you think you are can be wonderful fun.
